Despite the different methods of application, both of these products have similar uses, killing adult fleas and ticks before they can lay eggs. Frontline Plus has the added advantage of killing flea eggs and larvae, eliminating chewing lice and controlling sarcoptic mange.
The key difference is in how long the treatment lasts. Bravecto provides 12-week coverage against flea and most ticks (8 weeks for Lone Star ticks), while Frontline Plus should be applied every 4 weeks.
Bravectois suitable dogs and puppies over 6 months of age with a body weight of at least 4.4lbs (2 kg), and is tested as safe for use with pregnant or nursing dogs. Frontline Plus may be used on dogs from 8 weeks weighing over 4.4lbs (2kg), and cats from 8 weeks weighing over 1.5lbs (0.7kg). Frontline Plus for dogs should not be used on cats.
